Gas and Energy Prices and the Economy

As you'll have read and discussed on Tuesday, September 4th- Gas prices are heading up again. They are low compared to most of the rest of the world, but there are long term consequences to high gas prices that will impact the economy in many ways and hit home hard. What causes prices to go up? What might cause them to drop back down? At what price per gallon will your family start changing their driving habits? What about alternative energy sources? What is the role of government, the role of energy companies, the role of consumers in setting America's future direction in Energy? How do energy costs impact jobs? the environment? our standard of living?

What do you think? What examples can you share?

This discussion will run until Sunday, September 9th.
